A group of children that have school and family difficulties, and attend a special afternoon school for them has prepared a little play . First time it was performed for a group of mentally disabled adults in local community center.Main theme: eat vegetables, not sweets.

A gift for audience- an apple. Everything was touching as these poor and sometimes

retarded kids put alot of energy and time in preparation, They were very proud to be actors ;) Poor could do something for even poorer....

THE LAST JUDGEMENT

It seems to be the higlilight of our museum, a genuine

work of a Flamish master from Brugge.

Now I know why I felt so " at home"

there ;) . There are many symbols and hidden

meanings in this

very mature composition.

Since November this big poster is displayed

at our main station

building. Looks unusual.

When I was a child my father showed

me this picture, (I was impressed)

and he pointed that there are bishops

flying down to hell...

ZAKOPANE ATMOSPHERE IN SOPOT

Zakopane is pretty far from Sopot, but these loving the

atmosphere in the Tatra can console themselves in a restaurant which

is build out of wood, without single nail. And the waitress

and waiters have folk costumes ;)

Lublin story

Lublin, a city in eastern part of Poland survived well during war, surprisingly not destroyed neither by Germans - like Warsaw nor by Russians- like Gdańsk.
It used to be very important city thorough our history,especially in the16/17century.Now a bit forgotten, visibly more modest than
other Polish big cities, tries to find its own way. Some parts of the city looks pretty well, while some buildings-even in the very centre of the city desperately need renovation. The contrast is very striking.

The Jewish heritage is especially important there, as before German invasion in 1939 nearly half of the population was Jewish.Almost all were murdered in a concentration camp near Lublin( Majdanek).

What is the most interesting there - for me a bit "east" ambiance, a result of being a border city between Poland and Lithuania even the main alter in the Dominicans church has something Orthodox in itself. There is also a nice chapel at the castle. all decorated by Russian frescoes, but photographing is not allowed there.

Happily this city offers a wide choice of nice restaurants and cafes - you can eat even French crepes there! Above one of Jewish style restaurants.
