A WAY OF THE CROSS IN GDAŃSK



A week before Good Friday there is an open air Way of the Cross in Gdańsk. It leads thousands of people through streets of the Old city, till the monument of fallen shipyard workers. Organized by the Dominicans, led by local bishop, sober ,without Spanish bells and whistles.


From left to right: President of the Gdańsk council,bishop,the prior of the Dominicans,
a wise man that thinks independently.

















Even the youngest generation was present.

    lovely pisc 4-5 are amazing. especially last ones. but i don't know.. were you using flashlight a lot?

    The photos at the monument were taken with flash, but not as a
    main source of light. Hapilly there was pretty good ambiet light, so it gave very good effect, like theatre ...
    NIKON has wonderful flash system
    and such effect could be obtained by using several flashes with filters etc, but of course if you are in the field = reportage
    you are happy to see- and use SUCH A LIGHT. I liked the hands most ;)

    well i try to avoid direct flash as possible. rather have high iso ... and noise pictures. :)

    With NIkon you can use flash but not directly, it is not possible if one has only built in flash.
    There are ways to reduce noise in postprocessing too, but nothing can replace flashlight used creatively ;)

    I think that I would tell the flash to reduce it's output by 1/2 stop as some times it does look just a touch dominant.

    ... and yes curvey curves are just beautiful ;))

    OK, next time will tell it so. In the meantime will try to play with curves , after a good bowl of cereals of course ;))

    curves? NEVER! only Levels!! :) Levels are more subtle and U can control better the result. IMHO :)

    there are many that I like here. mostly the one with Big Star in the background (I am USA fan :) and the one with hands -Adoramus. And, well in the rest of them I would use levels to brighten them up :)
